So lets say you have two choice of two time periods to live in.

Choice one is in the future when Humanity was about to reach it's peaks in technology, power, understanding, philosophy and such but knowing it was going to tragic and inevitable end. (You don't have to be alive during this end).

Choice two is farther in the future than choice one when humanity is in a totalitarian dictatorship fighting for it's survival but what happens after that is yet to be decided.
